The Team Behind the Scenes, Making a Difference Every Day

Behind every smooth visit, organized schedule, and well-cared-for patient is our incredible veterinary support staff. From client service representatives and administrative coordinators to animal care assistants and kennel attendants, this team keeps our clinic running with precision, professionalism, and heart.

They are often the first faces our clients see and the steady presence that ensures every detail is handled with care. Their dedication allows our veterinarians and technologists to focus fully on clinical care, knowing that the foundation of the clinic is strong, dependable, and compassionate.

Maddy H.

Maddy joined the FVS team in February 2024 and has been a warm and welcoming presence ever since. Born and raised in Fernie, she brings a strong sense of community and a genuine passion for animal care to her role.

In May 2024, Maddy completed her Veterinary Reception program through Olds College, further enhancing her skills in client communication and clinic support. Whether she’s assisting in the exam room or helping clients at the front desk, Maddy is dedicated to making every visit as smooth and comfortable as possible—for both pets and their people.

Outside of the clinic, Maddy enjoys spending time in the mountains snowmobiling and camping. She shares her life with Cedar, her lovable mixed-breed dog, who’s always up for an adventure.

Zoe K.

Zoe joined FVS in October 2024 and quickly became a valued part of our team. As a veterinary assistant, she supports our veterinarians with patient care, assists during surgical procedures, and helps ensure our clinic runs smoothly day to day.

Her love for animals extends well beyond the clinic. Zoe enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, horseback riding, and working on her property—where she’s often building structures like chicken coops or taking on new hands-on projects.

At home, Zoe shares her life with four cats, a dog, two horses, and a lively group of chickens, making her passion for animals a true way of life.

Myla W.

Myla has been a dedicated member of the FVS team since June 2024. As a veterinary assistant, she plays an important role in providing hands-on care to our patients and supporting the daily operations of the clinic. Her calm, caring nature and strong work ethic make her an essential part of our team’s success.

A true animal lover, Myla spends her time outside of work riding horses and expressing her creativity through painting. Her home is filled with furry companions—two gentle Newfoundland dogs named Hadley and Hazel, two horses named Jay and Tye, and two cats, Rodeo and Trigger.

Myla’s passion for animals shines through in everything she does, and we’re grateful to have her as part of our Fernie Vet family.

Libby K.

Libby has been a vital part of the FVS team since March 2022. As our full-time veterinary receptionist, she’s often the first friendly face clients see when they walk through the door. With a background in human medicine, Libby brings a professional, compassionate approach to every interaction and helps ensure the front desk runs smoothly day in and day out.

Outside of the clinic, Libby enjoys spending her time baking and exploring the mountain trails with her dog, Ozzy. At home, she shares her space with her three beloved cats—Tyrone, Hank, and Matilda—making her love for animals a true part of her everyday life.

Her calm demeanor, attention to detail, and genuine care for clients and their pets make her a valuable member of our team.

Mikayla B.

Mikayla is the friendly face that greets you at the front desk and the newest member of the Fernie Vet Services team. Originally from Okotoks, Alberta, she joined us with a passion for animals and a love for helping people feel welcome and cared for.

When she’s not at the clinic, Mikayla is usually out enjoying the mountains—skiing, hiking, or biking—or planning her next travel adventure. A self-proclaimed bookworm, she’s happiest curled up with a fluffy romance novel and an equally fluffy companion by her side.
